Country music star secures legal win in custody battle for daughter
Post Malone's ex-fiancée has dismissed her filing for primary custody of their daughter in California, according to Billboard .
Since April, the hip-hop and country artist and his former flame Hee Sung "Jamie" Park have been vying for custody of their 3-year-old daughter, who remains anonymous under the moniker "DDP" in court documents, per Billboard.
The music publication reports that Park had petitioned to take primary care of their daughter in Los Angeles , where she moved after last year's breakup; the case became complicated when Post Malone's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the petition in May , flagging the fact that the case seemed like an opportunity for Park to move their daughter out of Utah, her home state.
"I do not consent to Jamie's back door attempt to change DDP's residence from Utah to California," the artist wrote, per Billboard. "I request that the California court admonish Jamie for her lack of candor, gamesmanship in attempting to forum shop, and her intentional action to try to mislead the court about DDP's home."
In response, Park dropped the California case this past Monday , and the ex-couple will reach final custody arrangements within the Utah court system, Billboard reports.
Guests at Post Malone's ongoing "Big Ass Stadium" tour are likely familiar with the singer's daughter via the song "Yours," a ballad that pictures his daughter's future. The tour came to Gillette Stadium at the end of May, and will continue through mid-September.
