Elon Musk’s Estranged Daughter Vivian Wilson Proves She’s ‘Born to Disobey’ in Bold Anti-AI Fashion Campaign (Exclusive)

Vivian Wilson is not shying away from the conversation around AI.

The estranged daughter of Tesla founder Elon Musk , Wilson, 22, stars in the fall 2026 campaign for Spanish fashion label Desigual aptly titled "Born to Disobey."

Per a press release, the campaign aims to "send a clear message: the greatest rebellion is no longer about fighting against the system but about refusing to be part of it. When everything invites you to obey, the answer is attitude, irony and the freedom to be yourself."

The bold campaign video sees Wilson spending time with DESI 84, a robot designed to help with everyday tasks that the model instead decides to put into various situations for which it has not been trained. The result proves the robot's limitations, making an undeniable statement about the future of artificial intelligence and robotics.

In an email interview with PEOPLE, Wilson says she wanted to work with Desigual "because of their more vibrant and slightly maximalist approach."

"They are very ambitious in their creative visions, which is something I appreciate," she adds.

The model explains that it was important to her to take a stance on the impact of AI on the fashion industry "because it takes jobs away from talented creatives while being detrimental for the environment."

"Art is emotion through expression," she continues. "Since emotion is inherently human, AI takes away any underlying intention and replaces it with plagiarized colors and shapes."

Wilson, who came out as trans in 2020, has long spoken out about issues such as LGBTQ+ rights and immigration. While she's always considered herself an outspoken person, she credits the queer community for encouraging her to voice her opinion.

"I think being outspoken helps you build a stronger foundation in critical thinking through forcing you to question how and why you hold the beliefs you do," she tells PEOPLE. "The queer community really helped me find my voice in that regard. Back in school, I would volunteer for Queer Student Union by designing posters for fundraisers, even though it was a small act, it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

In line with its disruptive campaign, the Desigual fall collection features a "born to disobey" T-shirt as well as new denim constructions and unexpected patterns.

Wilson's personal style MO is similarly nonconformist. Rather than fall into overconsumption, she prefers to find creative ways to express herself through fashion.

Getting style inspiration from "the drag queens, the autists, the stoners and the degenerates," Wilson is all about personalizing her looks.

"I would suggest learning how to alter your own clothing," she says. "Style a scarf as a bag, crop an old sweatshirt, challenge yourself by implementing new ideas into your aesthetic. Something as simple as an old beanie you have lying around, it can be fun trying to think of ways to incorporate that into an outfit. Add pins, tchotchkes, memorabilia and whatnots to who knows where."
