Surgery planned for country music star after having stroke on stage
Although the country music star is bouncing back after having an apparent stroke while performing, Ronnie McDowell is expected to undergo surgery.
The incident happened last week when McDowell began slurring his words and started "making no sense" after a few songs while he was performing at the Summer Solstice Music Festival in Oley, Pennsylvania Saturday, WKRN reported .
A tour manager told the outlet that McDowell reportedly thought he might have had a stroke. He was then brought to a hospital in Reading for treatment.
Last week, Tyler McDowell revealed his father underwent an MRI and that he and his brother spent the day with Ronnie in the hospital. Ronnie Jr. said his father was discharged the following day.
"We will keep y'all updated on a surgery date and let everyone know how he does. Dad is a trooper and is bouncing back," Ronnie Jr. said. "But until the surgery, we want him to pace himself, which is very difficult for my Dad, as most of you know lol. Keep those prayers coming!"
