USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards names this waterfront Jupiter restaurant a winner

With a view of the Intracoastal Waterway, the Jupiter Lighthouse and a menu replete with seafood from lobster to crabcakes, Jetty's Waterfront Restaurant has landed on USA TODAY 10BEST waterfront restaurants in the nation.

In a process that ends with readers voting, Palm Beach County and Jupiter specifically have an abundance of fun coastal eateries that could fill a list.

If that national list grew to 100, restaurants in other Florida metros could fill each slot easy peasy.

But that's not how it works. Let us explain.

Methodology

A panel of experts nominates in each award category, with the final set of nominees selected via editorial review by USA TODAY 10BEST editors. Once the nominees in an award category are announced, the public is invited to vote for their favorites over a period of four weeks.

According to USA TODAY 10BEST, "We first eat with our eyes, as the saying goes, and waterfront restaurants offer breathtaking views beyond the beauty of the food they serve. Pairing culinary delights against the picturesque backdrops of lakes, rivers, and oceans, every meal is a feast for the senses."

The goal was to "celebrate the most exceptional waterfront restaurants across the country, assembling an expert panel to nominate establishments with outstanding service, delicious meals crafted from fresh, high-quality ingredients, and especially stunning views."

The next step was in readers' hands. Voting concluded April 14.

Jetty's landed at No. 8.
