Vin Diesel's Big 'Fast and Furious' Reveal Ignites Fan Frenzy Over Paul Walker originally appeared on Parade .

For nearly 25 years, The Fast and the Furious franchise has been fueled by the fandom's deep love for the films. It all began in 2002 when break out star Vin Diesel, 57, and the late Paul Walkerteamed up for a film about fast cars, loads of money and of course, family. The franchise has seen many ups and downs, the lowest low happening when Walker died in 2013 in a single-car accident while on a break from filming Fast & Furious 7 .

Since then the films have taken some unorthodox turns, but recently Diesel announced news that has fans revved up: The Fast and the Furious 11 (a possible continuation of Fast X that debuted in 2023) is set to come out in 2027 with some pretty big news.

"The studio said to me, 'Vin, can we please have the finale of 'Fast and Furious' [in] April 2027?'" Diesel told the crowd at Fuel Fest, a California car enthusiast event, where he said he would obliged under three conditions he gathered from fans. "First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O'Conner."

While it isn't 100% clear on how they plan to welcome back Paul Walker's iconic character, fans were pretty mesmerized by Cody Walker, Paul's brother, 37, who stood smiling behind Diesel during the announcement.

"Almost cried [because] Paul's brother looks so much like him," said one grieving fan.

And some took his presence to mean something for the upcoming film.

"They'll probably have Paul's brothers Caleb and Cody stand in as Brian but CGI the face again," stated one fan, in reference to the ending of Furious 7 where they did just that to complete the movie.

Fast X grossed more that $700 million worldwide with an all star cast that included many of the originals, as well as Jason Momoaand Brie Larson. While there's no word if this is actually a continuation of that story, fans will be waiting not-so-patiently to see jut how O'Connor will be making his "return."
