Sweeney is set to portray Novak in the upcoming film "Scandalous." This film, which will mark Colman Domingo's debut as a director, explores the 1957 romantic affair between Kim Novak and Rat Pack singer Sammy Davis Jr. Their interracial relationship faced heavy criticism and threats from studio executives then.

Domingo is notably this year's Met Gala cochair. The actor arrived on the red carpet almost at the same time as Sweeney, wearing a Valentino look inspired by the late journalist André Leon Talley.
Styled by hairstylist Glen Oropeza, Sweeney wore her hair pulled back in a tight updo, with face-framing baby curls and dramatic eye makeup. For accessories, she opted for several rings on her fingers.
