Zibby Owens’ Palm Beach retreat unites book lovers and bestselling authors
Bestselling author and podcaster Zibby Owens hosted a three-day event in Palm Beach to gather readers and authors for panels, workshops and other book-focused activities.
The Palm Beach Retreat for Book Lovers, held Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 at the Palm House Hotel and other local venues, included moderated author discussions and a "bookstore crawl." It also featured activity designed to inspire reflection, creativity, and community among participants, Owens told the Daily News.
A New York City resident, Owens is the founder and CEO of Zibby Media and host of the Totally Booked with Zibby podcast. She previously visited Palm Beach in March 2024 to sign copies of her book, "Blank," at the Palm Beach Book Store , 215 Royal Poinciana Way.
Her Palm Beach retreat drew more than 150 women from across the country and Canada, with activities ranging from moderated author discussions and live podcast recordings to shopping opportunities featuring local boutiques.
Authors who attended included New York Times bestsellers Jenna Blum, Marie Benedict, and Miranda Cowley Heller; popular fiction authors Audrey Ingram and Julie Doar; People Magazine Book Editor Lizz Schumer; and book influencer Sophia Stallone, founder of @favoritebookclub and a daughter of Palm Beach residents Sylvester and Jennifer Flavin Stallone.
The retreat included a kickoff cocktail and dinner at the Palm House Hotel, a luncheon featuring the authors, a dinner at Bice and a farewell brunch at the Colony Hotel.
The Palm Beach retreat marked the first time Zibby Media hosted an event in the area. Owens said the Palm Beach event is expected to become an annual gathering for book lovers.
