BAFTA Film Awards: ‘Conclave’ Takes Best Film — Full Winners List

  • Conclave wins four BAFTA Film Awards, including Best Film and Adapted Screenplay.

Edward Berger’s Vatican drama Conclave was one of the big winners at the BAFTA Film Awards this evening, with four wins including Best Film, the British Film Academy’s top prize. The film also took wins in Outstanding British Film and Adapted Screenplay.  Scroll downfor the full list of winners.

The film’s haul of four was matched by Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist , which landed wins in Best Director, Leading Actor for Adrien Broady, and cinematography for Lol Crawley. Netflix’s beleaguered genre mash up Emilia Perez won two awards, Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña and Film Not In The English Language while A Real Pain won Best Supporting Actor for Kieran Culkin and Original Screenplay.

Elsewhere, Irish music-comedy Kneecap won Outstanding Debut, Industry breakout David Jonsson won the EE Rising Star Award, and Warwick Davis received the BAFTA Fellowship . Mark Hamill handed Davis the award and in his opening remarks decribed the him as “one of the hardest working men in showbusiness.” George Lucas was also among others who paid tribute to Davis, saying he was a “great actor.”

Conclave had the most nominations coming into the evening’s event with 12, including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Actor, and Casting. Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez had the second most with 11. Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan biopic had six nominations but left this evening’s ceremony empty handed.
