BAFTA LA Appoints Matthew Wiseman As COO
- Matthew Wiseman has been promoted to COO of BAFTA LA after serving in various roles since 2002, including Director of Operations, and has been instrumental in expanding the organization's programs and events.
Shortly after appointing Chantal Rickards as its first CEO , BAFTA LA has promoted Matthew Wiseman to the post of COO. The London native joined BAFTA LA in 2002 and has held various roles since then, most recently as Director of Operations. During his tenure, Wiseman has helped expand the organization's screening and events program, launched educational initiatives for emerging talents including the Brits To Watch program, and developed the BAFTA US Student Film Awards and BAFTA Britannia Awards into tentpole events.
BAFTA LA was founded in 1987 to serve as a bridge between the Hollywood and British production and entertainment industries. The group is currently in a growth period with the aim to become the hub of the British creative community in Los Angeles.
