‘The Bear’ Takes Home Best Director For A Comedy Series As Christopher Storer Shows Appreciation For Cast And Crew During ‘Fishes’ Shoot
  • FX’s The Bear won the award for directing a comedy series, with co-creator Christopher Storer expressing gratitude for the support from FX and the hard work of the cast and crew during filming.

The kitchen is still running hot for FX’s The Bear as the series took home the award for directing a comedy series. Series co-creator Christopher Storer started his directing speech by thanking FX for investing in something they shouldn’t: “a restaurant.”

During his speech for best director, Storer brought up the tight homey space they shot in and really realized how much he loved his cast and crew during the filming of the episode.

Some of the other comedies competing in the directing categorioes included HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and Hacks, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, ABC’s Abbott Elementary, Apple’s Palm Royale and FX’s Reservation Dogs and What We Do In The Shadows.

The Bear had already taken home awards in the acting categories with Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Liza Colon-Zayas winning for best actor, supporting actor and supporting actress, completely sweeping the comedy portion of the show. The episode that took home best directing, “Fishes”, was already reaping the awards having helped land Jon Bernthal and Jamie Lee Curtis guest acting awards at the Creative Emmys last weekend.
