After being closed for a year, Champagne bar reopens in Louisville with new menu
Here's some cause for a "Cheers!" After being closed for a year, The Champagnery has reopened.
The bar specializing in all-things-bubbly closed its doors at 1764 Frankfort Ave. early in 2023 in what was intended to be a temporary pause, according to owners Charlotte and Brad Stengel. It originally opened in 2018.
"At the beginning of 2023, we closed simply to take a break, with plans to reopen in the spring/summer months," Charlotte Stengel told the Courier Journal.
That short stint away turned into a full year without the champagne bar, as the husband-and-wife team focused on other ventures in their personal and professional lives, she said.
They also took additional time to find a new general manager in Isaac Fox, who will continue his work at La Chasse , the Highlands restaurant Fox owns.
"We are excited to offer The Champagnery back to our beloved Louisville," Stengel said.
As the name suggests, this is the place to go for more than one Champagne option. The menu boasts more than 250 varieties of Champagne and sparkling wines, plus craft cocktails and mocktails.
"We hope that guests come away from The Champagnery growing in their appreciation of each other while growing in their understanding of the amazing products that The Champagnery offers," Stengel told the Courier Journal.
Patrons visiting The Champagnery will find more than something sparkly to sip on. It reopened with new food items, including in-house baked bread, sweets, sandwiches, charcuterie and food pairings to complement Champagne and sparkling wine options.
The bar on the corner of Pope Street and Frankfort Avenue also now offers high tea in the afternoon complete with tiered trays of finger sandwiches, sweets, and savory items. Stengel said they hope to host more classes, food and drink pairings and occasional flight specials.
The Champagnery is open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday with high tea available from 2- 4 p.m. Reservations are available.
