Ben Stiller On Waiting Three More Years For ‘Severance’ Season 3: “Definitely Not”
- Ben Stiller confirms that fans will not have to wait three years for Severance Season 3 on Apple TV+.
Severance Season 2 is wrapping up on Apple TV+, and Ben Stiller is addressing when viewers can expect the third installment.
Three years passed between the first and second seasons of Dan Erickson’s sci-fi psychological thriller. Producer Stiller recently revealed that fans will not have to wait that long for Season 3.

“No, no, the plan is not—definitely not,” Stiller said on the New Heights podcast after Travis Kelce asked if he was going to have to wait three years for the third season. “No, the plan is not, and hopefully, we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon. That will not be that.”
Severance stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, an employee at Lumon Industries who agrees to participate in a “severance” program in which his workplace memories are separated from his primary, external memories.
The cast of the Apple TV+ series includes Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, and Sarah Bock.
Severance originally premiered in February 2022. Filming for the second season was delayed due to the dual Hollywood actors and writers strike in 2023. Season 2 finally premiered on January 17, and the finale is scheduled to drop on March 21.

While promoting the show, Stiller recently revealed that he had sought Barack Obama for a cameo on Season 2 , but the ex-president ultimately declined. Stiller wanted Obama to voice the Lumon building in the “Lumon is Listening” video featured within the series. Keanu Reeves ultimately gave life to the animated building.
