In honor of the 2017 American Music Awards, Billboard is counting down the best performances from the awards show's history. Starting at No. 20, Miley Cyrus kicks off the countdown.

Throwback to 2013, when America was only knee deep in Miley Cyrus' divisive  Bangerz  era and a Trump presidency was only a glimmer in the alt-right's eye. The singer was fresh off her iconic VMAs performance with Robin Thicke, where she twerked to a medley of "We Can't Stop," "Blurred Lines," and "Give It To You," causing moms everywhere to question what ever happened to Hannah Montana.

Cyrus treated the AMAs crowd to a toned-down performance of "Wrecking Ball," a song that also initially caused quite a stir when it was discovered to be chock full of nudity, wrecking balls, and sledge-hammer-licking shots.

Looking back on the now four-year-old performance, the focus can be put on Cyrus' killer vocals. The giant cat lip-syncing the words in the background, along with Cyrus' kitty-adorned two piece outfit are all but surprising. They're kitschy and adorable, and Cyrus hits every note of "Wrecking Ball" out of the park.
