Bill Hader Reveals Favorite Movies of 2023

With 2023 officially over, many are sharing their favorite movies and other projects of the year. In a recent poll from IndieWire , director and actor Bill Hader shared his favorite movies of the year, ranging from blockbuster hits to independent darlings.

IndieWire polled 38 high-profile directors on their favorite projects, and Hader's list contains big-name films like Anatomy of a Fall ("That couple fighting in the kitchen was so well written, directed, and acted I thought I was going to have a panic attack. And Milo Machado Graner's performance is beautiful."), and even early 2023 horror film Evil Dead Rise ("I'm a sucker for "The Evil Dead" movies. I'll never look at a cheese grater the same again.")

Also included on Hader's list are Hayao Miyazaki's The Boy and the Heron , the hit A24 horror film Talk to Me , and Martin Scorsese 's Killers of the Flower Moon. While Hader is primarily known for his work as an actor, he has directed a handful of projects, most notably many episodes in the hit HBO series Barry, which he co-created with Alec Berg.
