BJ the Chicago Kid Gets Fall Release; Robin Thicke Joins Steve Harvey Lineup: R&B/Hip-Hop Briefs

BJ the Chicago Kid 's anticipated Motown debut album is slated for release this fall. Leading the charge is the R&B singer/songwriter's new track "That Girl," featuring OG Maco , available now. BJ — who sings on ScHoolboy Q 's Grammy-nominated hit "Studio" and whose collaboration credits include Kanye West , Kendrick Lamar , Kehlani and Chance the Rapper — is currently touring with Jill Scott . His supporting role on that North America trek wraps Aug. 28 in Phoenix.

Robin Thicke , who recently paid tribute to  Smokey Robinson on the 15th annual BET Awards , has joined the list of performers for TV/radio host Steve Harvey's 2015 Neighborhood Awards Weekend (Aug. 6-9) in Atlanta. Previously announced performers include Usher, Babyface, Tyrese, Erykah Badu, Jodeci and Jazmine Sullivan. Thicke's new single "Morning Sun" moves 29-17 on Adult R&B Songs . On the Billboard Hot 100 , his guest appearance with Verdine White on Flo Rida 's "I Don't Like It, I Love It" climbs 63-56.

SWV member Cheryl "Coko" Clemons and her longtime manager Cory Taylor of 21 Voices Entertainment are bringing their television chemistry — on WE tv's SWV Reunited — to radio. The pair's inspirational program, The Coko & Cory Radio Show , is the latest addition to the Rejoice Musical Soulfood syndication lineup. In addition to terrestrial radio, the program can be listened to live on musicalsoulfood.com. "We both grew up in church," says Taylor. "But in the show we say things other Christians may be thinking but are afraid to say."

Outkast 's André 3000 is the focus of an exhibition being presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and the SCAD Museum of Art. i feel ya: SCAD + André 3000 Benjamin showcases 47 custom jumpsuits designed by Benjamin, featuring printed phrases from the artist's musings and observations. The jumpsuits were originally created for OutKast's 2014 world tour celebrating the act's 20th anniversary. Running July 17-Sept. 13, i feel ya — debuting as a pop-up in Miami during Art Basel last year — also incorporates abstract paintings by Jimmy O'Neal and an experimental film directed by Greg Brunkalla.
