Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi Sends Words of Love to James Hetfield: ‘I’m Thinking of You My Friend’

Last week, Metallica announced that they will be postponing their Australian and New Zealand tour as lead vocalist James Hetfield re-entered rehabilitation treatment. On Wednesday (Oct. 2), Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi sent out a message of support for his fellow rocker.   

"My best out to James Hetfield," he wrote alongside a sweet throwback photo of the duo. "You've done the right thing seeking help – I'm thinking of you my friend and wishing you all the very best on your recovery. Looking forward to seeing you back at your best very soon. Your pal Tony."

"As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again," Metallicapreviously wrote in a statement on Twitter.

Metallica's other future shows seem to still be on schedule, including a  All Within My Hands Foundation  charity concert in March 2020, a South American tour in April, and the Global Goal Live show in September.
