Bozeman Skiers Release Highly-Acclaimed Indie Film for Free on YouTube

While the components to a quality short ski film aren't rocket science, executing them well is no easy task. Bozeman-based ski crew Entourage seems to have nailed it in their latest film, which was released for free on YouTube in November.

Soda follows a handful of young shredders from the Montana backcountry to the sunny spring slopes of Mt. Hood to a bunch of random parking lots, because what would a park edit be without some street skiing?

The film crew partnered with Salt Lake City musicians the Ten O' One Band.

The band released an album to accompany the film, and is featured as the majority of the soundtrack. The film also features footage of the band interspersed between stylish ski clips and b-roll that anyone whose ski bummed in their 20's will relate to.

For folks who enjoy a side of jam band with their ski films, roughly the first ten minutes of the film is one long track that carries the viewer through a series of opening clips that set the stage for the rest of the film. The seven track album that accompanies the film can be found on Spotify.

While the athletes featured might not be the biggest names around, they're definitely going to be ones to keep eyes on. It's clear just by the skiing featured in the film that these guys have a whole lot of passion and the talent to take them far in skiing. In particular, Toby Rafford is one to watch as he gears up for his rookie season on the Freeride World Tour this year.

Definitely give this one a watch and turn the volume up. And for those with a weak stomach, maybe skip over the bit at 13:37…
