The Charlotte Hornets are about a month into the 2026 offseason after a play-in game loss to the Orlando Magic , and are hoping for some good luck in the NBA Draft lottery. Meanwhile, franchise point guard LaMelo Ball recently celebrated some personal news when it was announced that he and his partner Ana Montana had welcomed their first child.

“The NBA star, 24, and the model, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, have welcomed their first baby together, son LaOne, a rep for the couple confirms to PEOPLE exclusively,” reported Hannah Sacks of PEOPLE.

Ball and Montana, whose real name is Analicia Chaves, have since released a statement confirming the news.

“Welcoming LaOne into the world has changed our hearts in the best way,” the couple said. “Family has always meant everything to us, but becoming parents has given us an entirely new perspective on love, purpose, legacy and what truly matters most.

“He has brought so much happiness and meaning into our lives, and we’re incredibly grateful to God for trusting us with such a special blessing,” they continue. “We’re embracing this new chapter with so much love and excitement as we raise and guide our son together.”

Meanwhile, Ball is hoping to lead the Hornets into contention in the Eastern Conference for the first time seemingly in forever after their late-season surge up the standings this past year, which resulted in their play-in appearance.

Ball was able to stay healthy for the most part this past season, overcoming ankle issues and other injuries that had plagued him in the past, and he played at an All-Star level as a result.

For now, however, he understandably has bigger things on his mind.
