"Like two kids in a candy store" - Carmen Electra on the time she had sex with Dennis Rodman on the Bulls' practice court
- Dennis Rodman was a unique figure in the NBA, known for his unconventional behavior and fashion choices that set him apart from other athletes.
Dennis Rodman wasn't your typical athlete, especially back in the day during the golden age of the NBA in the 80s and 90s. He became a cultural icon who shattered barriers across various areas, including fashion, behavior, and self-expression. One could say the Worm even pioneered today's modern athlete fashion with his extravagant fits.
At first, Rodman was a shy individual, but after he got out of his comfort zone, he became a true "menace." Neon hair, piercings, tattoos, a bad boy attitude; he was a 90s aesthetic prototype. Aside from his crazy persona, the Worm was also a pest on the basketball court, where his personality came to full fruition.
Rodman played the game in a way nobody did at that time. He thrived on the game's hustle aspect, fighting for every rebound, scrapping for every loose ball, hustle plays that made him fall out of bounds, and being a nuisance on the defensive side of the ball, displaying a skillset that was worth every penny for every team he played for, especially the Chicago Bulls.
However, while Rodman's game was interesting to watch and certainly made him who he is, the Worm's antics off the court are what transcended his popularity and celebrity status.
Rodman's relationship with Carmen Electra was a strange one
In 1998, Rodman began dating actress Carmen Electra, whose relationship became highly publicized and controversial, especially for Dennis . While their impulsive marriage during a late-night trip in Las Vegas broke headlines at that time, that wasn't the highlight of their relationship.
"One day, when the Bulls had an off day from practicing, Dennis said he had a surprise for me. He blindfolds me, and we get on his motorcycle. When he finally takes my blindfold off, we're standing at the Bulls practice facility, center court. It was crazy, like two kids in a candy store. We were eating Popsicles from the fridge and pretty much having sex all over the damn place, in the physical therapy room, in the weight room. Obviously, on the court," said Electra during the episode of "The Last Dance" documentary.
Although they had a movie-like romance, the two's relationship was rocky from the start, when Rodman filed for an annulment just nine days after tying the knot with Electra. Despite the filing, the couple quickly reconciled, but would eventually split, officially putting their relationship to rest.
Rodman has an interesting dating history
Shortly after his split with Electra, Rodman met Michelle Moyer, with whom he would eventually get married in 2003. Dennis' relationship with Michelle was his longest to date, where the two had two kids together, DJ and Trinity. Still, as with Worm's other relationship, this one was rocky too, because Moyer first filed for divorce in 2004, before the inevitable split in 2012.
Since 2022, however, Rodman has been in a public relationship with rapper Yella Yella. During their relationship, the Worm broke the internet when he got his face tattooed with the rapper's face.
The two are still going strong, where Rodman has referred to Yella Yella as his "last dance" with a woman, implying he is ready to settle down for good.
