Viral TikTok star dies after battle with cancer days before her birthday
YouTube and TikTok star La'tayvia Deshay Ransom, known online as Tayta Games , died Wednesday, days before her 22nd birthday.
Ransom had been fighting a battle with colon cancer, which she documented in a series of posts on her YouTube channel. She initially shared the news of her diagnosis one year ago.
Her father shared the news of her passing on Facebook.
"My Oldest daughter passed this morning... La'tayvia Deshay Ransom would have made 22yrs old in 9 days," the post reads. "I've been doing 2 a days at the hospital for the past week praying for the best. Talking to her made me so optimistic. Damn, I just can't believe I lost my child."
Ransom had more than a million followers across her social media accounts including Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
She was known for her comedic reactions whilst playing video games such as Minecraft and Dress to Impress.
Fans were quick to share condolences across her social media accounts.
"I'm really going to miss the energy she brought to this world," one user commented on her TikTok.
"I'm genuinely so sad about this," another user commented on Instagram. "I kept coming back to check for updates or if she uploaded. She brought me so much happiness and laughs."
