When mom's away, Chip and Emmie will play!

Chip and Joanna Gaines ' four children, Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7, often make appearances on their parent's hit HGTV series. Drake stole the show during a local baseball game , while Duke won viewers' hearts last week on a hilarious shopping trip with his dad . Now it's Emmie's time to shine, with an adorable cameo on tonight's episode.

After Joanna leaves her husband and her daughter behind to do some design work for their Waco, Texas clients, Chip and Emmie sneak away for an afternoon break shooting hoops.

"Emmie listen to me, now that mama's taking off, let's go and play some basketball—you want to?" he asks, to which she quickly agrees.

The father-daughter duo practices together on the sports court that was repaved for the new homeowners. Chip cheers Emmie on with a, "Yes ma'am just like that!" until she makes a basket. After high-fiving, they decide to call it quits — but not before Joanna can find out.

"I feel like I was pretty much done," Chip reasons to his wife. "Jo said to finish the fountain, so I finished the fountain."

The Gaines kids are one of the primary reasons Chip and Joanna decided to end their show after this fifth and final run . With baby number five on the way , the two are ready to spend more time with their growing family.

"We really want to focus on this break and take a step back to let this all soak in," Joanna told PEOPLE in October. "Regardless of what the future holds, we are hopeful for what God has for us and our family in this next season."
