Chris Hemsworth Reveals Why He Will ‘Never Be Friends’ With Billie Eilish

During a March 26 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert , Chris Hemsworth revealed why he will "never be friends" with Billie Eilish.

Hemsworth recalled an incident with the pop star which occurred at the 2024 Oscars ceremony, which he attended with wife Elsa Pataky. Upon seeing Eilish, one of their children's favorite musicians, Hemsworth and Pataky approached the star to take a photo they could show to their children.

"I got a photograph with Billie Eilish at the Oscars and I remember thinking, 'Ah, don't do it. Don't do it,' and I was like 'Nah, my kids are gonna love this,'" Hemsworth told Colbert when asked if he'd ever approached another celebrity for an autograph. But the moment didn't quite go as planned. "The moment I took it, I was like, 'I went from work colleague to now like a fan.' We will never be friends, never be best friends."

Hemsworth presented the award for Best Animated Feature alongside Anya Taylor Joy at the 2024 ceremony, where Eilish and her brother, Finneas O'Connell, were awarded trophies for Best Orignal Song for "What Was I Made For" from the Barbie soundtrack.

Colbert, visibly surprised at Hemsworth's fan moment, asked the star, "Have you worked with Billie?" Hemsworth hemmed and hawed, admitting the two had "bumped shoulders" and were "same kind of industry colleagues" despite never having worked together. "Sure, me and Anthony Hopkins, work colleagues," Colbert cracked as Hemsworth broke into laughter.
