Could the next big 'American Pickers' find be in Fayetteville?

The History Channel's long-running television series "American Pickers" will return to North Carolina in February, according to a news release from its production company.

The show wants to hear from North Carolinians who "have a unique item, story to tell and is ready to sell."

The documentary series follows professional pickers while they hunt for "America's most valuable antiques" in hopes of finding historically significant or rare items.

"Pickers are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics," and "hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life while learning a thing or two about America's past along the way," the news release stated.

Along the way, the pickers meet interesting people and hear the tales behind their collections.

If you or someone you know has a collection of different, unusual and unique antique items with a story and that the pickers can look through, contact the show at americanpickers@cineflix.com, @GotAPick on Facebook or call 646-493-2184 with your name, phone number, location, a brief description of the collection and photos to be considered.

The show does not film at stores, flea markets, malls, auction businesses, museums or anywhere else open to the public, the release states.

In previous "American Pickers" visits to North Carolina, picker Mike Wolfe bought an Abraham Lincoln statue from a 57-year-old woman's late husband's collection.

In 2016, Wolfe and former co-star Frank Fritz picked collections in Harnett County and Rutherford County. The show has also visited Salisbury, Waynesville, Hamptonville and Concord in previous seasons.

The current season of "American Pickers" airs with new episodes each Wednesday and is available on streaming services the following day. Viewers can also catch previous episodes on The History Channel at history.com/shows/american-pickers .
