The Country Music Hall of Fame Announced the 2025 Inductees, and Fans Are Scratching Their Heads
A new class of country music stars is about to be formally inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and fans certainly aren't holding back on their thoughts.
Almost 65 years after the inaugural class of Fred Rose, Hank Williams, and Jimmie Rodgers, the Country Music Association has tapped three new artists to honor at this year's upcoming induction ceremony: Kenny Chesney , June Carter Cash , and Tony Brown. Quite the lineup, right?
The CMA's official Instagram account broke the news to fans about the artists being inducted. Let's just say, it didn't take long for fans to chime in with their opinions in the comment section.
A lot of them shared the same question: "How is June Carter just now getting inducted? Has someone been asleep?" "About time! Yes June! 😍," one person wrote. "Yeah About Time For Miss June 🙏🌹🧡," echoed another.
"Congrats kennyy u deserve ittt," a Chesney fan wrote. While most people are ecstatic to see this year's picks, some country fans didn't take long to sound off in the comments about who they would have personally tapped for the Hall of Fame.
Each year, the Country Music Association selects a musical artist into one of three categories: Modern Era Artist, Veterans Era Artist, or Non-Performer. This year's Modern Era Artist is none other than "American Kids" singer Kenny Chesney. With over 30 million albums sold worldwide, countless sold out shows, and the honor of being the first country musician to have a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Chesney's fanbase believes this honor is coming right on time.
Considered the matriarch of country music, June Carter Cash will be joining her husband, Johnny Cash, in the Hall of Fame. Along with being an author, artist, and poet, she also helped co-write the oh-so-iconic, "Ring of Fire." The five-time Grammy award winning singer has left an everlasting influence on country music and fans were quick to point out how giving the late singer this honor is well overdue.
Lastly (but certainly not least), this year's Non-Performer pick went to Tony Brown. The record producer and pianist for Elvis Presley is known for his work in the country music industry over the past five decades. He's worked with major stars, including Reba McEntire , Trisha Yearwood , and George Strait. Oh, and let's not forget his six Grammys, eight Academy of Country Music Awards, and ten CMA Awards.
