Danny Trejo Shares His Unexpected Stance on Taylor Swift

Danny Trejo revealed in a recent interview that he, like so many others, is a Swiftie.

The 80-year-old character actor identified himself as a Taylor Swift fan while describing his "bucket list item" for an Us Weekly article. His dream is "to wear a shirt that says, 'I'm a Swiftie, what about it?'" he declared.

Though the Machete star admitted he isn't personally acquainted with the 14-time Grammy Award winner , he has been a fan from afar and, as he told the magazine, he feels "proud" of her success.

"I love the work ethic, you know what I mean?" he said before voicing his amazement that she is able to carve out time in her busy schedule to attend football games in support of her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce .

The Heat actor's admission makes him the latest of many public figures who have spoken out in support of the "Cruel Summer" songstress, who is currently on the final swing of her hit international Eras Tour .

Swift, 34, launched her popular tour in the U.S. in March 2023 before taking it abroad. While most of her shows this year took place overseas, she returned to the U.S. earlier this month for nine dates in three cities. Following two more shows in New Orleans, La., on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27, the Eras Tour's U.S. run will end in Indianapolis, Ind., with three consecutive dates in early November.

As Trejo mentioned, Swift has also managed to find time to attend a few Chiefs game this season. She first began attending games in support of her NFL star boyfriend when they took their relationship public last fall. The "Fortnight" singer joined the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., when the Chiefs kicked off the 2024 NFL season on Sept. 5, and she most recently attended another home game on Oct. 7. She missed the Chiefs' most recent game on Oct. 20 due to her own touring schedule, which will also prevent her from attending the team's next game on Sunday, Oct. 27.
