Fans Say John Legend Had 'Such a Husband' Response to Chrissy Teigen's 'Halloween' Prank Fail
- Legend walked into the bedroom where Teigen was waiting in the mask, but he didn't seem spooked and mistook it for a beauty treatment.
The key to a good prank is the element of surprise—and unfortunately for Chrissy Teigen , it was missing completely from her latest attempt to spook her husband, John Legend .
In a video shared by Teigen on social media, you can see her trying to scare him, but her plans were quickly thwarted by the "All of Me" singer's lack of a reaction.

It all started when the cookbook author, dressed in a bathrobe and Michael Myers mask, climbed on top of her bed to wait to surprise Legend with the caption "Let's try to scare John" across the top of the screen.
The video then sped up, showing Teigen getting comfortable before Legend walked through the doorway into the bedroom. He seemed to be looking for her as he said "baby?" while walking in, then chuckled as he saw his wife in the mask.
Maybe it was the television blaring in the room or the fact that the lights were on, but Legend didn't seem spooked to see Teigen, nor did he seem to notice that she was dressed as a horror film killer.
"That's it?!" she proclaimed, taking the mask off and explaining that she'd been "sitting here for like ten minutes, sweating."
Legend leaned in for a kiss, but Teigen kept going, asking, "not even any reaction?!" before throwing the mask at Legend and jokingly calling him "stupid."
"Honestly, I just thought it was another face mask you wear," he explained.
Fans quickly jumped into the comments to tease Teigen, with one writing "He said you always look like that π," and another laughing that "He's like now what beauty treatment is this?" A third commenter said that "Ofc he thought it was an LED mask Christine."
Other fans agreed with the sentiment, explaining, "I mean, this does look like every LED on the market, in retrospect," and "I thought it was a face mask too at first.... π€£."
"'I thought it was another face mask you wear' is such a husband answer πππΌ," said a fan.
Others gave Teigen feedback on her pranking skills. "Girl you gotta jump outta somewhere and scream. You're in the bed like a sexy Freddy Krueger lol prolly got him excited," said one fan. Another agreed, writing "Girl you gotta dress in his clothes with the mask and hide in the shower or closet πand be like ' aaaaaaagggh' that will get him lolπ."
The Michael Myers mask is a new favorite of Teigen's, as she also posted a sendup of the popular "get ready with me" videos that vloggers post on social media, but from the perspective of the Halloween villain.
"Hey guys, it's me, Michael Myers! Get ready with me to do what I do best," a voiceover started as Teigen, again in the bathrobe and mask, prepared a bubble bath. "First things first, I like to get into a bath to brush my teeth, which some find gross but, honestly, a lot of things I do are gross."
She continued, detailing how Myers would then place a silicone face mask over his killer mask and do some lymphatic massage "to wake my face up" before whipping out a hairbrush to "unmat my hair."
Teigen as Myers then packs a bag, makes lunch, gets glam, boards a plane, and is "off to kill it."
At one point in the video, Legend can be seen crawling across the floor in a towel, prompting fans to call him the "best actor in a supporting role π." Several other fans also commented on that part of the video, noting that they stopped listening to the voiceover when they noticed the 12-time Grammy winner in the background, seemingly trying not to ruin the shot.
