Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui Offers Support to Struggling LGBT+ Members: ‘Your Truth is Not Shameful’
On Monday night (Feb. 5)Fifth Harmony'sLauren Jaureguitook to Twitter to console and offer advice to struggling members of the LGBT+ community.
It all began after Jauregui first shared a tweet that showed users responses to the question "What will you do if your son comes out as GAY."

With some users responding that they would kick the child out of the house or much worse if they were gay, Jauregui, who identifies as bisexual, stood up to the hateful social media post tweeting by writing, "This is such a disgusting display of toxic masculinity & a deep ignorance of the expression of human sexuality."
She continued her statement saying, "It is a spectrum that has no shame. It will be painful but it will lead you to your true family. Anyone who can wish this on something they created is deeply troubled," to which Twitter members of the LGBT+ community began to speak out and share their stories.
"Reading those tweets are truly disgusting and make me sad," one user shared. "I'm a closeted bisexual and the thought of telling my parents terrifies me, and people wonder why until they see stuff like that. Its truly sickening."
Another user told the "All Night" singer that he was walking in his school's hallway and putting up Pride Club posters when another student came up to him and his friend and told them to die because he hates gay people. Jauregui responded telling the user "He doesn't hate gay people, he hates himself and who he has to pretend to be to be the right kind of 'male'."
Jauregui's interactive Twitter session was truly inspiring and helped show those struggling to accept themselves that they are loved and are important.
