Finneas Isn’t the First to Be Nominated as Producer & Engineer of the Same Album at the Grammys
Finneas is the first individual in 15 years to receive Grammy nominations for both album of the year (as a producer) and best engineered album, non-classical for work on the same album: his sisterBillie Eilish's first full-length, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? The last person to achieve this feat was Terry Howard, who won in both categories for his work onRay Charles' final album, Genius Loves Company .
Fourteen other people in Grammy history have received nominations as a producer for album of the year and as an engineer for best engineered album, non-classical for their work on the same album. Hugh Padgham achieved the feat twice, for his work onPhil Collins' …But Seriously andSting's Ten Summoner's Tales .
