Flatwoods Harvest Festival set for Oct. 21
Oct. 1—FLATWOODS — Music, activities and more are planned for the Flatwoods Harvest Festival, scheduled for 1 to 9 p.m. Oct. 21 at Flatwoods City Park.
Meanwhile, the haunted house beside the park will open Friday.
Throughout the day of the festival, old-fashioned games will be available, Lorna Rose, a board member of the festival, said.
Entertainment will include a fire performer, Rave at the Grave, pumpkin art show and mini pumpkin painting, games, Zombification Station, tractor rides and escape room.
Contests will include kids tractor pull contest, pie-eating contest, corn-shucking contest, costume contest, cake walk and pumpkin-carving contest. A split the pot and raffle basket with fire pit are planned.
Food trucks will include the Lions Club, Route 66, Chuy's Mexican street food, Fraternal Order of Police, G's Glizzy and Hawaiian shaved ice.
A costume parade is planned, followed by a light parade at 7:45 p.m.
Music entertainment will include Rail City Dulcimers, Ryan Bonner Band, Wicked Peace and Jayce Turley.
The haunted house will be open from 8 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through the first weekend of November.
Parking is $10 at the city building at 2601 Reed St.
