Four Seasons Palm Beach to mark 30th year with special treats for guests, two-night giveaway
It's a well-recognized honor to earn top rankings in Forbes Travel Guide's coveted annual awards, which were announced last week, but there's a bigger reason the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach is celebrating this month.
With the Four Seasons brand having entered Palm Beach in February 1994, it's marking its 30th anniversary at 2800 S. Ocean Blvd.
The six-acre oceanfront property, which has received five stars from Forbes Travel Guide for 26 consecutive years, is celebrating its three-decade birthday with special activities from Feb. 16 through Feb.18.
Hotel guests will be treated to such weekend-long niceties as periodic prosecco rosé toasts, but the public is welcome to enjoy a special three-course anniversary dinner menu for $95 a person.

In addition, with French clothing company Maison Labiche, the resort has created anniversary T-shirt designs. The T-shirts – Le Popincourt and Le Poitou – are made with organic cotton and serve as an ode to the island's charm, featuring three palm trees reflecting the eesort's three decades the Four Seasons said. The T-shirts are on sale at the resort's boutique.
An anniversary two-night stay giveaway will be offered via Instagram beginning Friday by following @FSPalmBeach and @MaisonLabiche . To enter, "leave a comment on the anniversary promotion post tagging a favorite travel partner. Limit to one comment/entry per person," the resort said in a release.
"Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach will gift a two-night stay experience in an Ocean View Cabana Terrace accommodation along with one bottle of champagne, breakfast for two, dinner at Florie's, one full-day beachfront cabana, and the Maison Labiche x Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach Capsule Collection including Le Popincourt and Le Poitou T-shirts," the hotel said.
The giveaway promotion begins at 10 a.m. on Friday and ends at 10 a.m. on Feb. 29.
With 207 rooms and suites and an amenity-filled oceanfront perch, the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, owned by Miami-based Fort Partners LLC, is perhaps in the best shape of its 30-year-and-counting existence as a Four Seasons-brand hotel on the island.
A resort-wide multi-million-dollar renovation that debuted in January 2019 unveiled showpiece redesigns of the resort's suites and rooms; its pool deck with two pools and cabanas; and 11,000-plus-square-foot spa and salon.
But it also drew national attention then for the addition of what's considered the first U.S. restaurant in partnership with acclaimed three Michelin-starred Argentine-Italian chef Mauro Colagreco.
The restaurant, Florie's, which reflects what Colagreco told the Daily News is his penchant for "exploring new ingredients, new flavors and regions of the world," is the only area restaurant recognized by Forbes Travel Guide.
The guide's 2024 awards also gave its highest honor — five stars — to the Four Seasons Palm Beach for excellence as a resort hotel and for its spa.
That's "a testament to our passionate team," Mazen Saleh, the resort's general manager, told the Daily News in an e-mail.
He also noted that the resort's engineer, Kerson Francois, is one of four finalists for Forbes Travel Guide's global 2024 Employee of the Year award. The winner will be announced Feb. 29 at a Las Vegas gala, an FTG spokesperson told the Daily News on Friday.
Among other accolades bestowed on the Four Seasons, the Palm Beach resort this past October was named one of the world's 50 best resorts by Conde Nast Traveler.
More than 500,000-plus Condé Nast Traveler magazine readers ranked it as the 20th best in the world — and the No. 1 resort in Florida.
Perhaps it's hard to imagine now, but not long ago all Palm Beach County hotels were temporarily closed for safety reasons for months after the rise of the pandemic in March 2019.
During that difficult time, the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach was closed for more than a year.
In an unconventional agreement, the hotel was occupied by one tenant: Chicago-based Citadel Securities, a market-maker sibling of hedge fund Citadel, which operated a trading floor at the hotel.
The arrangement, which town officials did not squelch even though they said it was in violation of town zoning regulations, kept more than 180 Four Seasons employees working during the pandemic, Four Seasons officials noted.
Citadel's billionaire-founder Ken Griffin owns a 20-plus acre Palm Beach estate , the town's largest.
The Four Seasons opened on the island in 1994, when it merged with the then-Ocean Grand Hotel and pumped $2 million into the property to improve it.
Since 2014, the Four Seasons has been owned by Miami-based Fort Partners LLC, a privately held real estate ownership, development and management firm.
The firm, led by Nadim Ashi, also is at the helm of such assets as Norman's Cay in the Bahamas; and The Surf Club Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences in Surfside, Florida.
As for the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, it continues to be about moments filled with "life's memories," general manager Saleh said.
Such memories arise as part of "our guests looking back on vacations spent here, our community and those of our team, some of whom have been here since 1994 and dedicate their careers to make those moments happen. That's the greatest honor we could have."
