Gabby Windey Reveals Which 'Traitors' Star She's Not in Contact With After the Show (Exclusive)

  • Gabby Windey, breakout star of The Traitors Season 3, jokes about disliking Scotland and her preferred communication hours.

From the all those gorgeous shots of the Scottish countryside in The Traitors , one would assume the show's contestants adore Scotland. Season 3's breakout star,  Gabby Windey, does not.

"Terrible, the food's awful," she tells Parade , laughing. "No, I'm like, don't go to Scotland. You don't need to go to Scotland. Just look it up on Google Earth and thank me later."

Windey is joking. Or at least kind of. The Bachelor  and Bachelorette  star is known for her delightful hot takes. She recently went viral for discussing her "business hours," AKA the hours that she'll accept outside communication. "You wanna have a FaceTime at 9 p.m.?" she asks in the video. "I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a dull chopstick."

Speaking to Parade , she elaborates on the best times to reach her. "The best time is honestly between 10 and 12. I think I originally said 10 and 2. But after lunch, I'm telling you all of my confidence goes right out the window," she says. "It's waning. I'm not gonna be able to hold a conversation. Like I need to digest after a big lunch, and that's where I'd like to end my day. So you have two hours to sneak in there. A zoom, a call, you pick. Nothing over 15 minutes."

Her gripes regarding Scotland and FaceTime extend to jet lag as well. " The Traitors was definitely intense. They're like 16-hour days, and I don't do jet lag. Getting adjusted to Scotland time took me two weeks, and then it was almost done."

While she was in Scotland filming, she says she broke down in tears whenever given the opportunity to call her girlfriend, comedian Robby Hoffman

"The environment is intense, obviously. There's lots of mental manipulation going on, but not even that," Windey says. "I've been on TV before. But you know when you hear the voice of someone that you love and you've been under duress? It's not even like you're sad. You're just like, 'Oh my god! I love you so much. I miss you.' It's just so comforting, but also really emotional."

Windey recognizes, though, that all her slightly exaggerated woes are going to get her in trouble. "Peacock PR is gonna be like, 'What is your deal?' They're gonna have me silenced immediately."  Parade  is asking on behalf of Windey that Peacock's PR never silences Windey and, in fact, invites her back to her loathed Scotland for Season 4 of  The Traitors

During Season 3, Windey has already become one of the show's most likable figures, whether it be for dragging Tom Sandoval, delivering quips about her time on The Bachelor  ("How did Bachelorette go? Well, I'm a lesbian now.") or not realizing that Lord Ivar Mountbatten was present at breakfast

When I ask about the rogue votes from Dylan Efron aimed at her, Windey becomes animated. "Oh, I saw red. I'm like, 'What are you doing? Whose side are you on? You know I'm a Faithful, so why are you coming at me?' I took it personal, I did."

However, she's got a very different approach to her voting. Early on, she formed an alliance with Nikki Garcia and Chrishell Stause, which they labeled "The Bambis" before Windey and Stause turned on Garcia and banished her.

"Whoa! Really hitting where it hurts," Windey says when asked about their dynamic now. "I think Nikki went on a podcast, and she was like, 'It actually did take me a while to get over,' and I was like, 'I'm so sorry!' But when you're in it, you know it's a game...kind of. I'm like, 'I take everything personally.' There's a fine line that you tow, but in the back of your mind, you know that it is a game, and we're all doing our best."

Coming in, Windey didn't care if she was made a Faithful or a Traitor. "I was like, 'I'll leave it in Gay God's hands, Alan Cumming's hands,' so I knew that he would pick right for me. But ultimately I thought being a Traitor would be too much pressure. So a sigh of relief came over me after the Round Table where he picked."

That said, if Windey was made a Traitor, she had some conditions for Cumming. "From the beginning, I was like, 'Alan, if you're gonna make me a Traitor, please put me with my friends, so that it's people I want to hang out with and like murder with.'"

Parade 's chat with Windey is a part of her partnership with AT&T as a part of their Galentine's Day celebration. As it turns out, Galentine's Day is also National Break Up With Your Carrier Day, and Windey wears silk pajamas and slippers for the occasion.

"I'm in my silks because the girls are coming over," she says, standing in the Times Square AT&T store. "We're getting cozy on the couch. We're gossiping, talking sh*t."

As a part of the telecommunications-related gossip, we obviously have to pry about Windey's cell phone habits. She reveals that the person she texts most from The Traitors  is Carolyn Wiger (not the Bambis), and that there's not one big Season 3 group chat. "We all just talk about each other behind their backs still," she quips.

Bob the Drag Queen sends the best memes, Stause uses voice memos the most ("You gotta stop that Chrishell," Windey says). And luckily, nobody FaceTimes.

Bob the Drag Queen is also the person most likely to leave Windey on read. "Pick up the phone," she says to Bob, "But he can say the same about me. We play tag."

There is a Bambis group chat as well as one for the LA-based players. However, Windey is not in contact with Danielle Reyes. "I don't think we have each other's numbers," she laughs. Windey also doesn't have host Alan Cumming's number, but she wishes she did.

As for her past shows, she's texting her co-Bachelorette  Rachel Recchia, most from the Bachelor Nation crew, and  Ezra Sosa the most from  Dancing with the Stars . However, she is dodging calls from Alan Bersten. "He's always trying to get me on the phone," she says. "I'm like, 'I'm not going to pick up. Once you learn that, the better off we both will be.'"

The one person she would like more calls from is her girlfriend Robby. "Honestly, I wish Robby and I texted more," she says. "As a lesbian couple, we do not talk nearly enough. And by that, I mean I want to be texting every second of every day. But she's not like that. I'm like, 'What's the point? I thought I was dating a girl for a reason.' So, baby, if you're watching, text me."

Windey certainly prefers the home she shares with Hoffman to Scotland as well. "I love having her around," Windey says. "I love just like following her all around the house. She's like, 'Why are you watching me?' I'm like, 'No, I'm not judging. I just like really want to be next to you.'"

However, Windey was slow to make space for her girlfriend when she moved in.

"I was hoping you wouldn't go there," Windey responds to a question about their shared belongings. "She moved into my place. So naturally, I was like, 'Oh, you can put up your Emmy, and that's it.' It's like, okay, no, this is her home too. So it took me a couple of months to really clean out a closet for her, which I did."

Peacock PR. If you're reading this, please clean out another Scottish castle closet for Windey. We need her back next season. Just don't tell her that's where she's flying.
