Hannah Berner Says Blake Lively Joke Was Filmed Before Justin Baldoni Lawsuit
- Hannah Berner clarifies that she supports Blake Lively despite making a joke about her during a Netflix roast, which was filmed before news of Lively's lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.
Hannah Berner is making things clear: She stands by Blake Lively, even if she made a joke about her in a special filmed earlier this month.
In an Instagram Story posted on Friday, Berner shared her support for Lively amid her legal battle with Justin Baldoni, despite joking about the actress during Netflix's Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year , which premiered Friday.

During Berner's part of the roast, Berner said on stage: "The word 'cunt' was trending this year. I don't think Blake Lively was that bad."
In her Instagram Story, which included a screenshot of the show, Berner clarified that she stood by the actress, and had made the joke days before the legal filing. "My joke in the Netflix roast was filmed before news of the lawsuit," Berner said. "To be 100 percent clear, I support Blake xoxo."
Torching 2024 released on Netflix Friday, and features guests such as Tim Dillon, John Stamos, Ms. Pat, and Mark Normand.
On Dec. 23, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Baldoni, alleging that he sexually harassed her on set and launched a smear campaign against her.
Many of Lively's fellow artists and actors have come out in support of Lively, including her castmate Brandon Sklenar, Amber Heard, and her former Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel.
Through a spokesperson, Sony Studios — which distributed It Ends With Us — expressed their support for the actress as well. "We fully and firmly reiterate that support today," the studio said through a spokesperson. "Further, we strongly condemn any reputational attacks on her. Any such attacks have no place in our business or in a civil society."
