I was husband number one, and she told me I was the love of her life. When we lay in bed on our wedding night, she said we would be together forever.”
“We fell in love when she was already famous,” he continued. “But during our marriage, she became a megastar. For years, it was too painful to talk about. I wanted to lie low and live my life. But when I saw she got married to Ben, who is a good guy, the feelings came flooding back.’

After J. Lo split from A-Rod in April 2021, she and Ben rekindled their romance. One year later, the Marry Me actress announced on her “On the JLo” newsletter that she and Ben got engaged again.
The couple got married at a Las Vegas chapel on July 16, 2022, followed by a formal wedding ceremony in front of their families and friends at Ben's Georgia estate on August 20, 2022.
Jennifer explained during a January 2023 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live why they decided to elope while planning their nuptials.
"We were so happy, and of course it was happening, but I just felt like the wedding was so stressful and one day Ben just says, 'F--k it, let's just go to Vegas and get married tonight,'" she revealed.
The couple's marriage was plagued by differences that were an issue in their initial romance. Ben didn't like the public attention they received as a couple, and made his discomfort known in Jennifer's February 2024 Prime Video documentary The Greatest Story Never Told.
"Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media.’ Then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of, like, you’re going to marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t want the water.’ We’re trying to learn to compromise,” Ben shared in the doc. Jennifer added, “I don’t think [Ben] is very comfortable with me doing this, [but] he doesn’t want to stop me."
By May 2024, In Touch had confirmed that Ben and Jen were “headed for a divorce.” At the time, they had not been photographed together in over a month. Although they reunited at events for their children that spring, the A-listers spent most of summer 2024 apart. They did not celebrate their birthdays or two-year Las Vegas wedding anniversary together.
On August 20, 2024, Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on the two-year anniversary of their Georgia wedding. She revealed that their date of separation was April 26, 2024.
