Kris Kristofferson was more than just his legendary singing and songwriting skills, he was a dedicated husband to his wife, Lisa Meyers, and the loving patriarch of their blended family. The "From Here to the Moon and Back" artist adored his eight kids, Tracy, Kris Jr., Casey, Jesse, Jody, Johnny, Kelly Marie and Blake.

On September 29, 2024, a representative for the star announced that he had died at his home in Maui. He was 88.

"It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28 at home. We're all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he's smiling down at us all," his family said in a statement to People .
