Matt Damon Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Wife and All 4 Daughters

Matt Damon generally keeps his family out of the spotlight, but the actor made an exception for the recent premiere of his new action comedy, The Instigators .

On Wednesday, July 31, the 53-year-old star walked the red carpet alongside his wife, Luciana Barroso, and all four of their daughters:  Alexia,24, Isabella, 18, Gia, 15, and Stella, 13. 

As Damon told People , the film was a family affair of sorts, with Barroso serving as a producer.

"She actually produced this one," Damon said. "So she was very actively involved in this one, but I just trust her."

"She's one of those people whose taste I trust completely, like Caseyand Ben[ Affleck]," Damon continued.

"And so when they say something, when they dig their heels in on something, any of them do, I pay attention. We all have blind spots creatively or otherwise. And when I see somebody that I agree with so much feeling strongly about something, I look really carefully at it."

Damon and Barroso were married in 2005, when Damon became stepfather to Alexia, Barroso's daughter from a previous relationship. The pair were recently photographed on vacation in Mykonos, where they spent time with Chrisand Liam Hemsworth. 

As Parade reported in 2011, Damon compared the experience of becoming a dad to the Grinch's transformation.

"I jumped into the deep end with Lucy. I mean, Alexia was already 4. I was an extra dad...The only way I can describe it—it sounds stupid, but—at the end of How the Grinch Stole Christmas , you know how his heart grows, like, five times its size? Everything is full; it's just full all the time."
