McDonald's Is Finally Bringing Back Fan-Favorite Chicken Sandwich to the U.S. and Fans 'Can't Wait'

McDonald's fans are rejoicing over the return of a popular chicken sandwich to the U.S. That's because the Chicken Big Mac will reportedly hit menus this year.

On Monday, Aug. 26, Food blogger Snackolator  took to Instagram with the exciting update. "McDonald's is *finally* bringing the Chicken Big Mac to the US this year and I am really curious to see what everyone thinks!"

Snackolator noted that the chicken sandwich is the same as the original Big Mac—but "instead of two 'all beef patties' you will be getting two 'tempura chicken patties.'"

They continued: "This was so popular in the UK and Australia that they had to pull it from the menu due to supply issues (remember the Popeye's Chicken Sandwich launch?) so it will be very interesting to see how this does nationwide - it was tested in the Miami area in late 2022."

In the comments, fans shared their reactions to the Chicken Big Mac's reported U.S. return, with one declaring, "Omg need rn."

A different Instagram user wrote, "I'm in!!! Can't wait for the US release!!!" while another commented, "BIG YES!!!"

Someone else shared, "We had it in Canada last year, it was actually good. It like a big chicken nugget in between the Big Mac toppings 🔥."

Yet another fan predicated, "This oughta be a good one!"

However, not everyone was convinced. One Instagram user wrote, "we don't want this one bro," while another commented, "lol no thank you ✋🏾."

In March, McDonald's CEO  Chris Kempczinski teased the return of the Chicken Big Mac in a taste test video comparing it to the OG Big Mac.

"I've got on my right, here, the classic McDonald's Big Mac, which you all know and love. I certainly love it," he said at the beginning of the  clip posted via Instagram . "And then we have the Chicken Big Mac, which has been on our menu before, and it's coming back to make a reappearance."

As of writing, McDonald's has not announced a release date for its Chicken Big Mac.
