Ayesha Curry Tries to Break a Dating Curse in ‘Second Chance Holiday'
Ayesha Curry is heading home for the holidays, and hoping to leave a string of Christmas breakups behind in the new romantic comedy Second Chance Holiday.
She stars opposite Matthew Daddario in the film, which begins streaming for free on The Roku Channel Nov. 5.
Curry plays Chelsey Banks, a dating expert whose own love life could use some help. After repeatedly getting dumped during the holiday season, Chelsey returns home for a fresh start and reconnects with her high school sweetheart, played by Daddario.
The reunion leaves her wondering if her supposed holiday "curse" has been leading her back to her first love all along, according to Roku's official description.
The movie gives Curry another holiday film role following her supporting turn in Hulu's 2025 romantic comedy Joy to the World, starring Chad Michael Murray and Emmanuelle Chriqui.
In that film, Curry played a TV host whose on-air announcement shatters a lifestyle author's carefully constructed image. Chriqui's character, who built her brand around a fictional family life, scrambles to find a stand-in husband when a network plans to broadcast Christmas dinner from her home.
Curry's other acting credits include appearances on Ballers, A Black Lady Sketch Show and Hannah Montana.
Her new film, Second Chance Holiday, is directed by Maxwell McGuire from a screenplay by Erin Muroski. Muse Entertainment produced the film in association with Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media company.
Executive producers include Jonas Prupas, Aren Prupas, Joel S. Rice and Michael Barbuto for Muse Entertainment, and Chet Fenster for Motion Entertainment.
