Bryce Dallas Howard Joins Curry Barker’s ‘Anything But Ghosts’

Bryce Dallas Howard has been cast in Curry Barker’s next directorial  Anything But Ghosts , which is being released by Focus Features. Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky Pictures and Divide/Conquer are also producers on the pic.

Howard joins a cast led by Barker, Aaron Paul and Cooper Tomlinson, who were previously announced.

The news comes before Barker’s Obsession, which Focus picked up for $10 million+ out of the Toronto Film Festival, opens May 15.

Anything But Ghosts  is directed by Barker, who also co-wrote with his longtime collaborator Cooper Tomlinson.

The porject is produced by Jason Blum (Blumhouse), Roy Lee & Steven Schneider (Spooky Pictures), Adam Hendricks & Greg Gilreath (Divide/Conquer), in association with Image Nation and That’s a Bad Idea. EPs are Barker, Tomlinson and Image Nation’s Ben Ross.

Howard’s credits include the Amazon MGM Studios British comedy Deep Cover , Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle , the Jurassic World franchise, the Elton John biopic Rocketman , Disney’s Pete’s Dragon , Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter , 50/50 , Tate Taylor’s The Help , The Twilight Saga: Eclipse , Terminator Salvation, Spider-Man 3, Lady in the Water and her film debut in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village . She also received a 2008 Golden Globe nomination for HBO’s As You Like It , directed by Kenneth Branagh. On stage, she starred in Broadway’s Tartuffe , the Public Theatre’s As You Like It , the Manhattan Theater Club’s House/Garden and Bay Street Theater Festival’s Our Town .

As a director, Howard has helmed episodes across six seasons in the Star Wars universe spanning The Mandalorian , The Book of Boba Fett , Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew . She directed and produced the feature documentaries Dads for Apple TV and Pets for Disney+, and is attached to direct and produce All of Her for Lionsgate.

Howard is the founder of Nine Muses Entertainment, whose lab she taught at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and her TED Talk on digital identity was named one of the most newsworthy ideas of 2022.

She is represented by CAA, Entertainment 360, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.
