Emily Blunt is sharing an update on husband John Krasinski 's efforts to make the next Quiet Place movie.
"He starts shooting really soon," Blunt, 43, said of Krasinski, 46, whom she has been married to since 2010, during her Tuesday, April 28 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . Blunt was on the show to promote her new movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2 . Krasinski, meanwhile, is the writer and director behind both entries in the Quiet Place franchise, which stars Blunt.
"He's been writing it. He's one of these weird, sort of A Beautiful Mind people — he has Post-its everywhere, and he's like that for months organizing it, until the point where I'm like, 'Please write this movie. Stop Post-it-ing our house,' " she told host Jimmy Fallon during her interview.

Krasinski and Blunt costarred 2018's A Quiet Place as a couple and their children (portrayed by Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe and Cade Woodward) hiding out in a rural community some time after the movie's alien monsters arrived on Earth and killed much of the human population. The first entry in the series notably features Krasinski's character's death. 2021's Part II sees Blunt's character and her children reach (relative) safety on an island and the revelation that the series' monsters cannot swim. A third entry in the series, Day One , starred Lupita Nyong'o and covered the aliens' initial arrival in New York City.
Paramount Pictures announced it intended to make another movie in the Quiet Place series back in 2022. Krasinski confirmed that he would return to direct, write and produce the next entry — he did not write or direct Day One — in August 2025. Little is known about the movie's story.
"Sometimes he'll pitch me an idea, but I'm not very good out of context," Blunt told Fallon, when asked if she pitches Krasinski ideas for the movie's story. "I'd rather he'd write it and then I'll read the whole thing. And then he's in traction with nerves as everyone starts to read it, but then — I mean, he's brilliant. I'm awestruck by it. He's a freak."

The actress added that she hopes she will have "maybe slightly less action" in the next installment. "There's a lot of running in Quiet Place 1 ," she said. "I had one bad knee before I started the franchise and now I have two bad knees after John was like, 'Hey, could you do a fake stumble?' And I did and botched the other one up. So I'm sort of hoping to sit quietly in A Quiet Place III ."
While Blunt's fans await the next installment of A Quiet Place , she has re-teamed with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci for The Devil Wears Prada 2 , in theaters May 1. This year, Blunt will also star in Steven Spielberg's upcoming UFO blockbuster, Disclosure Day , in theaters June 12.
A Quiet Place Part III is scheduled for release in June 2027.
