Girl in the Night Trailer Previews a Very Different Kind of Superhero Movie | Exclusive
ComingSoon is exclusively debuting the trailer for the upcoming movie Girl in the Night. It's written and directed by acclaimed Slovenian filmmaker Luka Marčetić, known for making Day of Love, Paired Up, and the hit comedy At Hostar and its sequel.
The official synopsis for Girl in the Night reads, "The aimless life of a lonely kleptomaniac takes an unexpected turn for the worse when he steals a bicycle from a mysterious girl who spends her nights fighting crime."
The movie will soon have its World Premiere this month in the main competition at Fantastic Fest at the Alamo Drafthouse on Lamar in Austin, TX.

What do we see in the Girl in the Night trailer?
The Girl in the Night trailer opens with Rok, played by Urban Kuntarič, a kleptomaniac who works at a gas station and steals chocolate bars from there during night shifts. The trailer also features a mysterious girl with severe bruises on her face. She also claims to have powers. Rok asks her, "Do you have superpowers?"
The trailer then shows brief shots of the unknown girl fighting crime at night. "Crime won't solve itself", says her voiceover.
What makes the premise of the movie captivating is that the mysterious girl, played by Lara Wolf, only appears at night. Hence, Rok comes up with the only plan to meet her again. He decides to steal her bicycle.
Girl in the Night is described as "a delightfully deadpan love letter to misfits and the spirit of youth that offers audiences a mix of A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night crossed with Napoleon Dynamite, with a serious splash of Juno."
Speaking about his film, director Marčetić said, "I am deeply interested in people who are mostly quiet, shy, and to a point enjoy solitary existence. These people often go unnoticed in everyday life, yet they possess a unique strength in their quietness."
He added, "I always wanted to put them in roles of vulnerable heroes and antiheroes. This is a story about boredom and the search for friendship in very strange circumstances."
Girl in the Night is produced by Jerca Jerič and Andraž Jerič. Primož Hladnik & Boris Benko – Duo Silence have composed the music.
