Michael B. Jordan’s First Post-Oscar Role Is Now Available to Stream on Netflix

Matt Minton

Craving more Michael B. Jordan on your screen after his Oscar-winning performance in Sinners ? You're in luck, because Netflix just dropped a new animated film featuring Jordan's voice, alongside a few other notable names.

In the new film Swapped , which Netflix describes as a " Freaky Friday -like adventure set in the wild," directed by Tangled 's Nathan Greno, Jordan plays Ollie, a lovable woodland creature who winds up swapping bodies with a bird; naturally, wild adventures ensue. The cast also includes Juno Temple, Tracy Morgan, Cedric The Entertainer, Justina Machado, Ambika Mod, and Lolly Adefope.

Jordan has already received positive reviews for his work; Variety 's Owen Gleiberman wrote his character is "voiced with straight-up sincerity," while The Guardian 's Benjamin Lee said the overall celebrity cast has "distinctive enough voices to work," adding that "there's energy to their work." Reviews for the film so far have been mixed to positive.

Jordan won the best actor Oscar for his work in director Ryan Coogler's Sinners ; the competitive category included Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent , Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another , Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme , and Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon . Of its record-breaking 16 nominations, Sinners also took home Oscars for original screenplay, cinematography, and original score.

Following this fun animated role, Jordan is set to direct and star in a remake of the 1968 heist film The Thomas Crown Affair , which will be released by Amazon MGM in 2027. Jordan previously directed Creed III , starring Jonathan Majors and Tessa Thompson. Last week, it was also reported that Jordan is possibly attached to star — "depending on several factors," at least — to the highly anticipated Battlefield movie that Mission Impossible 's Christopher McQuarrie is set to write and direct.

Swapped is currently streaming on Netflix and playing in select theaters.
