What are the worst movies of the year? Razzie picks are in
Some movies just shouldn't be remade ... and this year's Razzie Awards nominations back up that sentiment.
New renditions of "Snow White" and "War of the Worlds" lead a pack of critical and commercial bombs for the Worst Picture honor from the Golden Raspberry Awards , also known as the Razzies.
Also in the running: Netflix's $320 million production "The Electric State," "Hurry Up Tomorrow," and "Star Trek: Section 31."
"In the world of 2025, bad is good. Dumb is smart. Ghastly is great. And winning a Razzie is a good thing," says a statement from the Razzies. "Just ask any of the well-known talents represented in this year's 45th Annual Razzies list."
Ice Cube, who starred in "War of the Worlds," is nominated for worst actor. The movie has six nominations overall.
"Snow White," a live version of Disney's animated classic, also received six nominations. The seven artificial dwarfs in the film were all nominated for Worst Supporting Actor.
Some notable names were nominated: Jared Leto ("Tron: Ares") and David Bautista ("In the Lost Lands") both are nominated for Worst Actor, while Milla Jovovich ("In the Lost Lands"), Natalie Portman ("Fountain of Youth") and Rebel Wilson ("Bride Hard") are nominated for Worst Actress.
Robert De Niro is nominated twice for Worst Screen Combo for his dual role in "The Alto Knights."
The winners will be announced on March 14, the day before the Academy Awards.
