4 patriotic-themed Green Bay concerts to celebrate America's 250th

If you're hoping to celebrate America's 250th birthday with a rousing live rendition of "The Stars and Stripes Forever" or "God Bless America," grab your lawn chair.

The Green Bay City Band, Weidner Philharmonic, Civic Symphony of Green Bay and The Dudley Birder Chorale of St. Norbert College each has a special performance planned in coming weeks featuring patriotic music. Three of the four concerts are free.

The Dudley Birder Chorale: 'Let Freedom Sing'

When/where/how much:5:30-8 p.m. June 25 at Heritage Hill Sate Historical Park, Allouez. Gates open at 5 p.m.; explore the grounds beforehand. Bring your own lawn chair. Minzo's Kitchen will be selling food. Wine, beer, mixers and soda available from the lower-level bar. Tickets: $30 adults, $15 ages 3-13 and free ages 2 and younger; heritagehillgb.org .

The concert:Songs of freedom throughout American history will be performed by The Dudley Birder Chorale of St. Norbert College on the patio, along with special guest performances.

• Moravian Church performance with Elaine Moss and Kent Paulsen, 5:30-6 p.m.

• Fife and drum corps, 6-6:30 p.m.

• Abrams Spotlight Productions performance of "1776," 6:30-7 p.m.

• The Dudley Birder Chorale, 7-8 p.m.

Orchestra at the Airport: 'Wings of Freedom: America250'

When/where/how much:2 p.m. June 27 at Pilotsmith/Jet Air Group hangar at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, 1911 Airport Drive, Ashwaubenon. Park in the Oneida Bingo & Casino lot, 2170 Airport Drive, and take the shuttle to the hangar. Bring a lawn chair or reserve a metal folding chair for a minimum of a $5 donation at gbcivic.org/seats . Doors open at noon, with kids craft project, full-motion flight simulator, raffle, face painting, aircraft on display, food for sale. No carry-ins. Free; donations appreciated.

The concert:The Civic Symphony of Green Bay presents its fourth annual CSGB @ GRB (Orchestra at the Airport) family concert, this year with a special salute to the red, white and blue. The program is as follows:

• "Fly Me to the Moon"

• Intermission

Green Bay City Band: 'Happy Birthday USA'

When/where/how much:7 p.m. July 1 at St. James Park, downtown Green Bay. Park benches or bring your own lawn chair. Popcorn and other concessions available. Free.

The concert:With a theme of "Happy Birthday USA," Green Bay City Band celebrates America's 250th with a bagpiper on "Amazing Grace," The Dudley Birder Chorale of St. Norbert College on "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "Armed Forces Salute," and vocalist Kent Paulsen on "God Bless America."

Weidner Philharmonic: America 250 in Green Bay

When/where/how much:11:30 a.m. July 4 at Leicht Memorial Park, downtown Green Bay, as part of America 250 in Green Bay. Free.

The concert:The Weidner Philharmonic's brass and percussion ensemble will perform a program conducted by University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Chancellor Michael Alexander. Selections will include "Star Spangled March," "Fanfare for the Common Man" and "Lift Every Voice and Sing" as well as medleys from "West Side Story" and "Star Wars."
