ABBA and BoStyx tribute bands hit Rochester this Nov.; Christmas Carol opens in Dec.

The Rochester Opera House is closing out the year with a series of exciting performances, including tribute bands and a beloved holiday classic.

On Nov. 21, Mamma Mania, New York City's premier ABBA tribute band, will take the stage. The band features performers from the North American Tour of "Mamma Mia." The show starts at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.

The following night, Nov. 22, BoStyx, a tribute band combining the music of Boston and Styx, will perform. BoStyx is made up of six wildly talented musicians and has performed all over the country, bringing crowds to their feet. The show also begins at 8 p.m.

The holiday season will be ushered in with a production of "A Christmas Carol," running from Dec. 12 to Dec. 23. The show features music by Alan Menken and is directed by Jenry Towle, with choreography by Brad Reinking and musical direction by Samuel Tolley. Dan Kelly, a Rochester Opera House veteran, will play the role of Scrooge.
