Bad Bunny and J Balvin squash feud during surprise concert reunion
Bad Bunny and J Balvin have found their way back to the "Oasis" of friendship.
The Latin music superstars, who'd been rumored to be feuding, reconciled during a surprise reunion at Bad Bunny's Mexico City concert on Sunday, Dec. 21, as seen in social media footage of the pair's performance .
"I apologized a long time ago. People don't know, but we had a conversation a few weeks ago," Bad Bunny said in Spanish. "But we were waiting for the perfect moment to share the stage, and it's good that it was here in Mexico."
Bad Bunny first sparked feud rumors in 2023 with the release of his fifth album, "Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana." On the song "Thunder y Lightning," the reggaeton heavyweight called out Balvin with the lyric, "You've seen me, I'm always hanging with the same people. While you're friends with everyone like Balvin."

Shortly after the song's release, Balvin responded to the lyrical jab during an Instagram livestream , telling fans, "The person I know is a great person. We supported each other mutually, we made history, we also created a new story within music. I don't understand what was going through his head but, well, the guy I know is a good person."
On stage in Mexico City, the singers apologized to each other for any past disrespect in their relationship, as well as praised the musical impact they've made in their respective careers.
"And now, brother, we are two men standing tall, representing Latinos wherever we go, and I wish you the best," Balvin said, to which Bad Bunny replied, "You know the feeling is mutual. I respect you a lot. I love you a lot."

Bad Bunny and J Balvin first collaborated on a pair of singles, "Soy Peor (Remix)" and "Sensualidad," in 2017. The pair joined forces again the following year on "Dime" and "I Like It," the latter of which became a multiplatinum collaboration with Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B .
The singers' musical chemistry culminated in the release of their 2019 joint album, "Oasis." The Latin urban record spawned a pair of No. 1 singles, "Qué Pretendes" and "La Canción," and peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums and Top Latin Rhythm Albums charts .
Following their emotional concert reunion, J Balvin reflected on his reconciliation with Bad Bunny in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday.
"Time accommodates what the ego disorganizes. Today, I don't write from noise; I write from calmness," Balvin wrote in Spanish alongside a photo of himself and Bad Bunny hugging backstage.

"Not everything that separates is war, sometimes it's growth," Balvin continued. "And growing is also knowing how to return [with] no hard feelings, no masks, no fear. Today, I celebrate that we're good.
