Sometimes Mother really does know best.

Blake Bergere was working at Fox in the Snow Café in 2019 when his buddy Nick Lorenz's mom came into the New Albany shop one day.

"She told me Nick was working on some music. She knew I also played, so she said we should link up and collaborate," Bergere said.

On that advice, the childhood friends played together and stayed together, christening themselves Bird and Byron .

Bergere (Bird), 30, and Lorenz (Byron), 29, will face Cowell and his three fellow judges when they perform on " America's Got Talent " on June 23.

"I grew up watching 'AGT.' My mom is probably one of the biggest fans. She's always pumped to watch the first episode and predict who's going to go all the way," Lorenz said.

"So, us being on the show is kind of a cool twist."
