The Cure Win Best Alternative Music Album for Songs of a Lost World at 2026 Grammys

The Cure have won Best Alternative Music Album for Songs of a Lost World at the 2026 Grammys . They beat out the category's other nominees Bon Iver ( SABLE, fABLE ), Hayley Williams ( Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party ), Tyler, the Creator ( Don't Tap the Glass ), and Wet Leg ( Moisturizer ).

The Cure have been nominated exclusively in Best Alternative Music Album until this year, when they received an additional nod—and win —for Best Alternative Music Performance for "Alone." Both category wins are the band's first ever Grammys.

As revealed earlier in the award ceremony, the Cure were not present because they were attending the private funeral of Perry Bamonte , the band's longtime guitarist and keyboardist. However, they later shared a thank you note online, writing , "Simon, Jason, Roger, Reeves, and I would like to thank the Grammys for this wonderful award; we are very honored to receive it. We would also like to thank everyone who helped in the creation of our Songs of a Lost World album, particularly co-producer Paul Corkett; everyone in the Universal Music Group who worked so hard to get our lost world found; everyone in our mostly indefatigable Cure crew, including all those at Primary and CAA; and, most importantly, all the Cure fans around this world who came to our Lost World shows and enjoyed our Lost World music. Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you."

In 2025, St. Vincent won the Best Alternative Music Album Grammy Award for All Born Screaming . During her acceptance speech, Annie Clark thanked her collaborators and family— revealing that she's both happily married and a mother, now raising a daughter—and waxed poetic about how wild it is to create an album at all.
