  • The Zac Brown Band and Dolly Parton have released a new collaboration called “Butterfly,” a deeply-moving ballad meant to inspire and uplift individuals who may be facing personal challenges.

The Zac Brown Bandhas joined forces with the legendary Dolly Partonon a brand new collaboration called "Butterfly." Out today, Friday (Sept. 5), this deeply-moving ballad brings together two iconic acts to deliver an emotionally-charged, inspirational message that is meant to touch the heart. 

A piano-heavy ballad with an orchestra feel, "Butterfly" sits at a little over four minutes as ZBB frontman Zac Brown sets the tone lyrically. He showcases his earnest vocals on the poetic verses that share a deep wisdom in hopes of uplifting individuals who either feel broken or may have been hurt in one way or another. 

" Whatever don't kill you makes you strong /  Night is always darkest right before the dawn ," Zac Brown sings before the two artists team up on the chorus, joining their voices in a beautiful harmony.

" Butterfly, you will see / You're so much stronger than you think you are / You just have to believe ," they sing throughout the soaring chorus of the song. " You can fly, mend your wings / Any moment you can free yourself / And fly out of the darkness, butterfly ." 

With its simple, yet powerful meaning of overcoming personal challenges and message of hope, "Butterfly" will resonate with people far and wide. 

Zac Brown Band Teased "Butterfly" On Social Media Revealing Music Video To Follow

Before releasing the track, the Zac Brown Band teased the collaboration on Instagram, sharing their admiration and excitement for having Parton's guest vocals on "Butterfly." The band also revealed they will drop the accompanying music video for the song on Friday (Sept. 5) at 10:00 a.m. CT. The music video will feature Parton as well. 

"Honored to bring this story to life with the one and only @dollyparton / Official Music Video premiering on Youtube this Friday @ 10 am CST," a caption reads alongside a photo of Zac Brown playing on piano with his back facing the camera. Parton, meanwhile, is seated next to him with her legs crossed and arms folded, looking up as if she is reflecting on something meaningful. 

"Butterfly" And Newly Released Track "Give It Away" Will Appear On ZBB's Next Album,  Love & Fear .

"Butterfly" is one of two new tracks released by the Zac Brown Band as a two-pack offering to listeners. "Give It Away" serves as the other single, which also dropped on Friday (Sept. 5). Both "Butterfly" and "Give It Away" will appear on Zac Brown Band's forthcoming album Love & Fear , due out on Friday (Dec. 5) alongside the band's Las Vegas Sphere debut, which includes four shows. Those performances take place on Dec. 5, 6, 12, and 13.
