'Everything Hallelujah' is a pretty slow-paced, mellow song, which left many questioning why the artist decided he would perform it at the World Cup final.

Just some of the reaction to the performance can be seen below:

One viewer wrote: "Justin Bieber picking the 86th most famous song in his catalogue with a negative tempo for the half-time show was… a choice."

Another stated: "What is this song choice. Bieber has completely killed the mood."

A third sarcastically commented: "I'm glad Bieber chose a popular song everyone knows and can sing along to."

"Justin Bieber, no way that's the song you choose," tweeted a fourth.

Another viewer added: "Justin Bieber chose to sing a song absolutely no one knows on the grandest stage of them all."

A sixth commented: "Not gonna lie, Bieber's slow song is kinda bringing the vibe down. Should have done a more uptempo song", with another tweeting: "This is a terrible song for Bieber to play."

Safe to say that the song choice did not go down well with a number of people who tuned in for the 2026 World Cup.
