Throughout several decades, Fleetwood Mac enjoyed a run that included dozens of hit songs and a number of top-selling albums – several of which rank among the most successful ever. A handful of tracks recorded by the pop-rock band still connect with a huge number of listeners today, and impressively, the Grammy-winning outfit often takes up multiple spaces on the Billboard charts with singles released decades ago.

This week, one of Fleetwood Mac's most famous compositions returns to a worldwide tally and soars to a never-before-seen high on another, as millions of people around the planet continue to press play on streaming sites and purchase the tune wherever they can.

Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" Hits a New Chart Peak

Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" improves its standing on the Billboard Global 200 , the tally ranks the most popular songs of any style throughout the world. Both sales and streams dictate where a title lands, as the tally is a consumption-based list. This frame, "The Chain" leaps from No. 133 to No. 117, which marks a new high point for the classic. Previously, "The Chain" had topped out at No. 121, which makes this gain is a conservative one.

Fleetwood Mac's Global Hits Compared by Peak Positions

Since its introduction in 2020, Fleetwood Mac has only placed three tracks onto the Billboard Global 200. "The Chain" sits in the middle in terms of peak positions. "Dreams" became a shocking win for the group when it bolted to No. 10 in October of 2020, just weeks after the list was inaugurated. "Landslide" debuted in January of this year, hitting a high of No. 123.

"The Chain" Ranks Between "Dreams" and "Landslide"

"The Chain" also sits smack dab in the middle of Fleetwood Mac's trio of wins on the Billboard Global 200 when looking at longevity. "Dreams" has spent just under five years on the tally, while "Landslide" only managed a pair of turns before disappearing. "The Chain" is up to 34 stints somewhere on the 200-spot rundown. "Dreams" outpaces "The Chain" when focusing on how long each song has charted, more than seven and a half times over.

Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" Reenters a Different List

As "The Chain" climbs to a new peak on the Billboard Global 200, it also finds its way back to the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. That list operates in almost exactly the same manner as the Billboard Global 200, except American consumption plays no role in where a song lands on the ranking. This week, "The Chain" reenters the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at No. 181 – not far from its No. 174 peak.

"Dreams" Continues to Outperform the Band's Other Hits

Fleetwood Mac has only ever managed to reach the Billboard Global 200 twice, as "Landslide" has yet to appear on the rundown. "Dreams" has accrued 70 stays on the chart, while "The Chain" is now up to just half a dozen.

Fleetwood Mac Scores Multiple Streaming Smashes

Impressively, Fleetwood Mac fills two spaces on both worldwide lists. "Dreams" improves to No. 53 on the Billboard Global 200 and nearly breaks the upper half of the tally on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., where it ascends to No. 101.

"The Chain" only manages to take up space on Billboard 's two global rosters, while another few Fleetwood Mac compositions appear on American rankings as well. "Dreams" jumps 10 spaces north on the Streaming Songs chart, making a home at No. 28. At the same time, it settles at No. 5 on the Rock Streaming Songs rundown. Fleetwood Mac doubles up on the list of the most-streamed rock cuts in the U.S., as "Landslide" keeps at No. 29.
